Illustrations

I have been illustrating for 25 years and have worked for both publishing and advertising companies in Britain, Europe and USA, clients including British Gas, Time Life, Readers Digest, National Trust to name just a few.

My work is carried out traditionally in a wide range of media and techniques including watercolour, gouache, coloured pencil, acrylic, sometimes using an airbrush. Often all these are used in one illustration. I am a great believer in good draughtsmanship and the traditional craft skills and I hope my work conveys this. I have illustrated a myriad of subjects from butterflies to jets, but my favourite subject areas are natural history, dinosaurs, historical and architectural reconstruction, children’s fictional characters and cartoons.

With the emphasis on good design and polished execution and imaginative interpretation of a brief, I aim to produce a highly finished and well presented illustration on time and to the client’s requirements.
